Groovin' With The Star @ The Star Vista - 25/26 Jul 2025

With National Day around the corner, Groovin' With The Star this month includes National Day songs Singaporeans that resonate with Singaporeans. Our performers are decked out in red and white for the occasion, belting out tunes from previous National Day Parades, from the classics to the themes of today. Also not forgetting familiar favourites and pop songs as Karyn, Sheng Li and Music Heart Band groove with the audience in this National Day special.

Two songs picked from Karyn & Sheng Li's performance:

• 喜欢看着你 [originally performed by Papaya Duck (木瓜鸭)]
  • This is Papaya Duck's first single, released shortly after they appeared in the Mediacorp reality singing competition Battle of the Buskers (游走的歌王). It is a cute, sweet pop tune about a school crush.
• Where I Belong (NDP 2001 theme song, originally performed by Tanya Chua)
  • This is the theme song for the National Day Parade in 2001, themed "Together, We Make The Difference". The song's Mandarin version is titled 属于, also performed by Tanya.

Two songs picked from Music Heart Band's performance:

• Here We Are (NDP 2025 theme song, originally performed by Charlie Lim, Kit Chan and The Island Voices)
  • This is the theme for the National Day Parade in 2025, in celebration of 60 years of independence. The song's title means pausing to reflect on how far the nation has come while looking to the future. The lyrics encourage unity and resilience, reminding Singaporeans to support each other through any hurdles that may come along the way.
• 你要的全拿走 [originally performed by Tiger Hu (胡彦斌)]
  • This R&B song is from Tiger Hu's album Fiào Te Hao (覅忒好), released in 2018. This song is inspired by a friend of Hu Yanbin who chose to leave with nothing after a divorce, and also contain his own feelings.
