Back to where it all began.
The Busking Chase returns to the location where it all started - Fusionopolis@one-north (a busking location that was onboarded in December 2023). This location was located where the pick-up/drop-off point is, and where some people working in the area (including R&D, technology and media industries - Mediacorp is located a stone's throw away from Fusionopolis) pass by during their lunch break or commute back home. Initially for the first three months, this location was popular during the weekday lunch hours. Afterwards, it became rare to find a busker performing there (with the nearby One Holland Village becoming a much more popular alternative), and the busking location was eventually de-listed in August 2025, three months after my recent visit.
Though in May 2025 (three months before the busking location was removed), I managed to spot not one, but two buskers performing there - one on a late Saturday afternoon, and another on a Tuesday lunchtime hour.
First up, we have Odelia Rei (@odeliarei), a independent local singer-songwriter who usually sings lo-fi and mellow R&B tunes. She has been featured on American radio channel iHeartRadio, with her hit single cloud9 (which is also the song I have picked for this busking session, an original duet with singer-songwriter cliffe that tells an endearing story of finding solace in the midst of loss) achieving over a million streams. Her original songs, such as Bossa Trippin' and Bury It All have also been featured on Spotify editorial playlists. Odelia is a fixture in the local music scene, where she not only explores different vibes and genres in her original songs, but also performs acoustic sets and busking/performing in gigs. Outside singing, Odelia is also a freelance fashion artist.

cloud9 (original duet with cliffe)
I didn't expect to bump into another busker there afterwards, but I had a pleasant surprise a few days later when spotted one on my way to the lunch venue during work. The busker? His name is Shadow (杜承颖), who is also a guitar teacher. I don't know much about him since he is relatively new to the busking scene, but I hope to bump into him some other time. As it was May 20, his repertoire included instrumental acoustic covers of love songs. (Almost forgot that 520 is a Chinese internet slang for "I love you" - now I get it.)
The song picked from this busking performance is 恋爱ING [originally performed by Mayday (五月天)]. This song is a rock song that conveys the joy and sweetness of being in love.
