Karyn & Sheng Li - Eunos Bus Interchange - 1 May 2025
I look left, look right, look left, look right, is this song request considered too high?
And finally, we arrive at our third (and last) new location of the day, with Karyn & Sheng Li as the first busking group to perform at Eunos Bus Interchange.
This is one of the many bus interchanges that still has this old-school charm, even as many bus interchanges are gradually going air-conditioned over the years - it is one of a handful of bus interchanges from the 80s to be left untouched since it commenced operations. Like the MRT station itself, this interchange is designed with a traditional Malay-style roof structure. The bus interchange opened shortly after the MRT station commenced revenue service back in 1989, and today serves as a terminus for 9 bus services.

The busking performance lasted up to 7.30p.m., during which we meet a dancing uncle and also looked at Karyn & Sheng Li performing song requests (including one request where a young girl requested for 跳楼机 - I mean, gee, famous songs know no age limits), with the Ah Niu (阿牛) signature song 对面的女孩看过来 (which I requested) to end off the set with a bang.
Okay, I might be mistaken, but when the People's Power Party candidate Samuel Lee sang "I look left, look right" in the viral video, the first thing that came to my mind wasn't the Chao Chuan song I'm Just A Tiny Bird (我是一只小小鸟) - it was actually Look Over Here, Girl (对面的女孩看过来). You know, 我左看右看,上看下看…… (which, translated to English, means I look left, look right, look up, look down.) Even I thought Samuel Lee was going to sing the Ah Niu song! Anyway, back to the point - by the end of the General Election campaign period, the "look left, look right" video went viral to the point where it is being used in remixes (notably the Nash Remix) and campaign videos, with politicians from other parties beginning to use the phrase (with DPM Gan Kim Yong adapting the "look left, look right" phrase for a campaign video - and using the Ah Niu song as an audio) and even the PPP themselves acknowledging the meme.

The two songs selected from this busking session are:
- 雪落下的声音 [originally performed by Lu Hu (陆虎)]
- This is one of the ending theme songs for the hit Chinese costume drama Story of Yanxi Palace (延禧攻略) (2018), which revolves around a palace maid in the court of the Qianlong Emperor and follows her (and the Forbidden Palace's) story as she investigates the truth behind the death of her older sister.
- 对面的女孩看过来 [originally performed by Ah Niu (阿牛)]
- GE aside, the Ah Niu song is written by the singer himself. The origin of the song is that Ah Niu could make him popular among girls when he played the guitar.
New longest chase record: 7.5 hours.
